Macanudo Inspirado Year of the Rabbit Heading to Europe and Asia

A new limited edition from Macanudo that will celebrate the Year of the Rabbit is slated to be released to select markets in Europe and Asia in the coming weeks. It’s the Macanudo Inspirado Year of the Rabbit, a 6 x 50 toro that uses a Connecticut-grown shade wrapper, Mexican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Mexico. A press release from Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) called the cigar’s profile “a rich smoke with a pleasant aroma that pairs beautifully with an array of beverages and cuisines.” “While Lunar New Year celebrations are gaining in popularity, the demand for Macanudo Inspirado continues to grow globally as the blends are particularly appealing to a range of palates,” said Mark Renard, international marketing manager for STG, via a press release. “With Macanudo Inspirado Year of the Rabbit, we are unifying the Lunar New Year celebrations with a unique blend that will be enjoyed by our clients in European and Asia who have requested a cigar for this important occasion. As the Year of the Rabbit embodies elegance, peace and luck, we extend those wishes to our clients across the world.”

A total of 3,900 boxes of 10 cigars have been produced by General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Those cigars will be available in France, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and Macau, among other countries, beginning in early January 2023. Pricing will vary based on the local market, but STG said the cigar is expected to be priced in the €18-20 range, or approximately $20 per cigar.
